Katelyn & Dale chose to have their wedding at the beautiful Ferguson Farmstay, just down the road from us in the Ferguson Valley near Bunbury. The ceremony was held at the base of some beautiful hand-made stone steps at the entrance to the Farmstay. We set up some of our white Gladiator chairs, and the aisle was decorated with log sections topped with the centrepieces for the reception.
We created the centrepieces from a very generous amount of spares from the florist (thank you to the Flower House in Bunbury) as well as with gum nuts and gum leaves from the Farmstay. Katelyn & Dale wanted a country theme but without too much of the “country” – they said to me they like the outdoors and they like the country life, and Katelyn had black, silver and grey as her colours hence the black pots with silver ribbon. We think this struck the right balance of “Australian Country” without being kitsch. Hope you agree!
I loved letting my creativity loose with the reception. Apart from the centrepieces, I also created some driftwood wall hangings. The tables were finished off with loose gum nuts and silvery tea light holders. The centrepieces rested on log sections which had the table names inscribed on them – these were cattle breeds! And the place names were inscribed on cattle ear tags. These rested against the bonbonierre/favours which were silvery green succulents.
Katelyn & Dale made two awesome decorations for the bridal table out of old fence posts which had wells cut into them for tea-lights. They also DIY’d the favours, the cattle tags, and the excellent seating chart! The table skirting, chair covers, sashes, table runners and cake were done by Rawjacs. Afterwards, Katelyn wrote “We loved it so much Charmaine it was perfect.” Well we loved this one too and feel very privileged to have been involved!
